Lanolin is well-known and researched as a useful anti-dryness remedy because it helps retain natural moisture on the skin. The substance is better known as a remedy for sore nipples, but also noted as a good remedy for an excessively sniffy and sore nose. Lanolin is essentially a natural fatty substance or wool wax obtained from sheep&#8217;s wool. Naturally, this substance forms a protective layer on sheep&#8217;s wool, i.e. it is similar to the fat secreted by human skin. Lanolin was already extracted from sheep&#8217;s wool hundreds of years ago by peasants.
