Birch tar

Birch tar has traditionally been used to treat skin problems such as acne-prone skin, fissures, pimples, eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and itchy skin. Birch tar has been found to act as an antibacterial agent. The effect is associated with the salicylic acid in the composition. The betulin in the composition has also been found to have a limiting effect on skin inflammation. Other substances in the composition of the tar help to form a new skin structure.

Birch tar is made from birch bark. The ancient Europeans were already engaged in the cultivation of birch tar before the Ice Age.
