Hemp and hemp extract

Hemp seed oil helps fight against psoriasis, acne, pimples, rosacea, excess oil and fungal infections. It acts as an antioxidant and reduces oxidative stress. Found to be beneficial as a skin nourishing and moisturising agent. The effect of CBD or cannabidiol is possible due to the body’s endocannabinoid receptors which are affected by signalling molecules. Preliminary research shows that CBD is beneficial for psoriasis, eczema and itchy and inflamed skin. It is also antimicrobial and promotes hair growth.

According to modern archaeological knowledge, hemp was one of the first plants that humans began to cultivate purposefully in East Asia 12,000 years ago. Cannabis is known to have been first used in skin care in ancient Egypt. The ancient Greeks rubbed hemp leaves on broken skin of horses to help them heal quickly. Cleopatra, the ruler of Roman-era Egypt, used hemp to keep her skin youthful. Old Estonians valued hemp seeds and food made from them as strong stomach filling.
