Propolis
With a diverse composition of over 300 ingredients, propolis is attributed with anti-bacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, analgesic and immunity boosting properties. The properties of propolis stem from its flavonoids, phenols, terpenes and caffeic acid. Propolis is an ancient and traditional ingredient with a long history. A genius invention of nature as it is produced by bees to protect their hives against disease. Bacteria and microbes living on the skin do not like to be covered in propolis. Propolis has been found to promote the growth and regeneration of damaged skin and help efficiently accumulate type III collagen which helps maintain youthful skin and minimise wrinkles. It is useful in treating burns and wounds. However, it is especially beneficial for treating acne. Also for herpes, eczema and fungal infections.
