Meadowsweet
Anti-inflammatory properties of meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) have been found in scientific studies, which correspond to the traditional use of the plant. Meadowsweet has been considered suitable for use in skin problems due to its salicylic acid content. A decoction and infusion of the herb has been used as a weak knitting agent.
Historically, meadowsweet has been used in European countries for inflammation. This is due to the antipyretic, pain-relieving and anti-rheumatic properties of the plant. In Austrian tradition, meadowsweet herbal tea was used for infections, fever and rheumatism.
